Moshav Yesha is located in the southern part of the Shalom region (Hevel Shalom) and is affiliated with the Moshav Movement. It was founded in 1956 by a group of immigrants from Egypt, who were later joined by several families evacuated from the Sinai Peninsula and a number of agricultural instructors. The name comes from the biblical verse "begevurot yesha yemino" ("with the mighty acts of salvation from His right hand" – Psalms 20:7).

Today the moshav is inhabited by the children and grandchildren of the founders, in addition to families that moved into the moshav's expansion neighborhoods over the years. The moshav represents all of Israel's positive values: Zionism, love of the land, working the landing and protecting its borders, friendship and mutual assistance.

 Moshav Mivtahim is also located in Hevel Shalom and affiliated with the Moshav Movement. The moshav was founded in 1947 as a kibbutz in the HaOved HaTzioni movement. After being fired at by tanks during the War of Independence, the members evacuated Mivtahim and founded Kibbutz Nitzanim. In 1950 Yesha was reestablished adjacent to the original settlement as a traditional-secular agricultural moshav.

The name Yesha derives from the biblical verse "vayeshev ami banaveh shalom ubamishkanot mivtahim" ("And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting-places" – Isaiah 32:18).
